Women WorkForce Empowerment Program

OIC is Inspiring Generational Breakthroughs with its NEW Program

In partnership with The Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, OIC of South Florida is delighted to provide vocational skills training and a variety of support services to 50 economically disadvantaged women within Broward County. The Women Workforce Empowerment Program is designed to meet the needs of career-inspired, unemployed or underemployed women who want to further their careers and break the chains of generational poverty.

“Entering today’s competitive workforce can be a tremendous challenge, particularly for individuals who have been unemployed for some time. We believe this program will help women gain greater personal confidence, skills, and financial independence in order to provide for themselves and their families. The DeLuca Foundation is proud to partner with OIC of South Florida in this effort,” said Elisabeth DeLuca, Board President of the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation.

  • Support Network & Guest Speakers
  • Before and After School Child Care (Broward County)
  • 20+ Industry-Recognized Certifications Offerings:
    • Culinary/Food Service
    • Customer Service
    • Supply Chain Operations
    • General Construction & Safety
    • Information Technology

 

  • Broward County residents 17 years or older
  • Currently unemployed or underemployed
  • GED or High School Diploma (not required to start)
  • At risk women due to (desired):
    • Homeless
    • Domestic Violence
    • Family Violence
    • Behavioral Health

OIC of South Florida (OIC-SFL) is a beacon of hope through its ability to serve as a community-based workforce, job development, and training organization. OIC-SFL focuses on the unemployed, underemployed, unskilled, and those with barriers to self-sufficiency due to past indiscretions in their background via our various Adult Workforce Development initiatives. OIC-SFL also seeks to proactively address the vicious cycles of poverty via our Youth & Family Services Division. By partnering with local schools and government agencies, OIC-SFL is able to successfully provide career awareness and readiness programming annually to over 7,000 students in middle school and high school.
