America’s Most Wanted Turned A Success!

The Montel Williams Show counted him out. America’s Most Wanted considered him a lost cause. Local news media coined him “Crime Boy.” But OIC of South Florida (OIC-SFL) calls Percy Lee Campbell, III — Family! Faith, motivation, and opportunity have the Campbell family standing strong and excited about their road to self-sufficiency.

OIC of South Florida celebrates the closeout of ReEntry Month. For the past 19 years, OIC-SFL has supported approximately 6,000 returning citizens. Thanks to funding from the Department of Labor, our employment partners like Broward County, and our countless list of community partners and supporters, we have successfully provided our clients with proven workforce development training and job placement assistance. Our evidence-based model provides citizens with an alternative to recidivism by preparing our clients for sustainable job placement and career advancement. To ensure our clients’ long-term success, we provide our clients with supportive services that include:
  • Vocational Certifications & Soft Skills Training
  • Case Management
  • Mental Health & Substance Abuse Treatment
  • Transportation Assistance
  • Interview Clothing
  • Financial Rewards for Success
  • Legal Assistance
  • Referrals for Housing & Health Care

ReEntry Community Events

Apart from highlighting the success of our re-entry clients, OIC of South Florida also hosted several “community-strengthening” events throughout the month of June. We kicked-off the month with inviting law enforcement officers, probation officers, and case workers to our Lunch and Learn informational in an effort to bring awareness of our services and to proactively help prevent recidivism.  We then closed-out the month with a community ReEntry Resource Fair. Thanks to our partnerships with The International Painter’s Union (IUPTA), Care Resource, Children of Inmates, and The All Law Center, returning citizens of Pompano Beach received assistance with registering to vote and record sealing and expungement. At OIC-SFL, challenges are disguised as opportunities!
