Job Title: Director of Employer and Workforce Partnerships

Reports to: Vice President of Programs

Status: Full Time

Salary Range: $82,000-$90,000

Work Location: Broward County

OIC of South Florida is a community-based leader in providing quality self-help skills and employment opportunities for disadvantaged and underemployed residents; thus, assisting them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society. Its work is accomplished through three divisions: Workforce Development, Youth and Families and OIC Strategic Integration (Social Enterprise Cooperation).

 

Position Summary:

The Director of Employer and Workforce Partnerships will develop and execute OIC of South Florida’s strategy to engage and maintain business relationships that will lead to placement opportunities for trainees from OIC of South Florida (OIC-SFL), corporate sponsors/funders for the non-profit and potential business ventures for OIC-Si. The Director is supervised by the Vice President of Programs and will work collaboratively with the Director of Workforce, Director of Communications and Strategic Partnerships and Director of Training to elevate the posture of OIC-SFL as a premium provider of skilled talent to South Florida businesses and a provider for their training needs. Supervises the Asst. Business Development Manager and Employment Specialists.

 

Essential Duties and Requirements: 

  • Lead in the development and implementation plan for the Business Development and Employment Specialist department.
  • Responsible for leading the efforts to developing and maintaining new employer and business relationships for job placements and corporate sponsorships.
  • Provide leadership to, and develop the work and training plans for, the Assistant Manager of Employment Specialists
  • Serve as in-house expert on South Florida Labor Market Information (LMI)
  • Provide leadership in working with Program Managers to identify strategies for ensuring all placement metrics are being met.
  • Provide the road map to the Senior Leadership team on the type of career training offerings based on Labor Market Information.
  • Lead and organize Quarterly and Semi-Annual Job Fairs.
  • Facilitate C-Suite level presentations to educational institutions, potential and current business partners, community and faith-based organizations, etc.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with the Local, State and Regional Workforce Board’s staff in order to solicit referrals, solidify placements and enhance OIC-SFL’s position within the workforce community.
  • Provide guidance on strategically developing partnerships with employers, professional organizations, workforce board, post-secondary institutions, municipalities, etc.
  • Conduct research on Labor Market Information, industry recognized credentials, labor and job market trends for grant application submittal.
  • Attend and represent OIC of South Florida at various workforce/economic development events to promote program services.
  • Maintain an Industry Advisory Council, which will provide direction on the career training offerings, job placement opportunity, labor market trends, etc.
  • Prepare all reports related to job placement and retention to all appropriate stakeholders.
  • Champion ongoing workplace and life skills training to ensure participants are work ready.
  • Assure proper systems to input into and maintain up-to-date student files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and or OIC senior management team.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Education or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years business development experience in professional services sector with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in managing for performance measures
  • Must be able to demonstrate consultative sales experience.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for diverse audiences, such as Corporate Executives to the community grassroots Outreach environments.
  • Proven experience in understanding workforce development’s industry-recognized credentials.
  • Candidate should be a motivated and highly adaptable self-starter able to function and succeed in a complex and fast-paced environment with significant ambiguity.
  • Demonstrated business development expertise in generating leads, identifying business targets, developing and maintaining relationship and closing deals with business owners and C-Suite Level Executives.
  • Documented experience giving C-Suite level presentations and using visual aid.
  • Proven working relationships within the workforce development community, professional business organizations various business sectors, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in working with a diverse and challenging clientele; to include ex-offenders and others with multiple employment barriers preferred.
  • Must maintain valid DL and insurance coverage on personal vehicle at all times during employment.
  • Performing the duties of this position requires the ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, speak and hear as well as the ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Bilingual (English, Spanish, French, Creole) preferred.
